WHAT DOES SALVATION MEAN TO YOU? There are several Greek and Hebrew words for the word “salvation.” They all are translated by over 20 English words. Amongst some of ‘salvation’s’ defining lines are: deliverance, avenge, rescue, save, safety, preserve, help, health, victory, defend, and certainly not the least, Savior. Salvation is used of “Deliverance” in Exodus Ch. 14. Salvation is “Victory over enemies” in 1 Samuel Ch. 14. Salvation is “Healing of the body” in the Book of Acts 3:6; 4:12. Salvation is “Forgiveness of sin” in the following: Luke 19:9; Romans 10:9-10; Psalm 38:18-22;51:1-13;79:9 “ “ Deliverance from Captivity Psalm 14 “ “ Freedom from prison Philippians 1:19 “ “ Freedom from wrath 1Thessalonians 5:9 * Salvation in essence is everything that Jesus was, is, and has come for; having the workings of all redemptive power! The Apostle Paul emphasized as he taught the Galatians, that the Grace of God for Salvation through faith in Jesus does not require that we work the OT law (Old Testament). Paul knew and had the revelation from Christ that it was not, nor is it now the OT requirements that bring or lead to Salvation. It is much to the effect that we receive God’s grace through our faith in Christ. How does Salvation come? How is it made possible? Again, we must note that one must initially, believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We must believe in the virgin birth of Mary, Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Along with one’s faith in Christ, Salvation comes and is made possible through the following: * Confession (Romans 10:9; 1 John1:9) * Grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9) * Sanctification of the Spirit/Belief of the Truth (2Thessalonians 2:13) * Through Godly sorrow (2 Corinthians 7:10) * Faith in His blood (Romans 3:25) * Faith in His name (Acts 4:12) THOUGHTS FOR IMPRESSION AND REFLECTION Salvation is a miracle! The sad thing is, many won’t readily receive it (a miracle) for many different reasons and perhaps, misguided information…..And yet, it is so easy to obtain and free of charge! Yes, free of charge for all humanity. Someone who didn’t owe the debt, paid the ultimate price. This beautiful miracle can come only through the door…that’s Jesus! Jesus declares, “I am the door…” (John 10:7,9) Your salvation is based and relies on your faith in Jesus, and He alone. It is not, nor will it ever be based upon your religiosity, traditions, or the rudiments of this world, which you now live. (Mt. 15:6; Mk. 7:13;Rom. 3:3;4:14; Col. 2:6-8,20-22) Your Salvation is not even based on your ability to obey the Laws or practices of the Old Covenant of the Law. Salvation cannot be limited to the initial redemptive process, where we accept Christ, confess our sins, and are forgiven of our sins.
