Just To Be Like Jesus:
 His Life At A Glance

When we study the life of Jesus, we find that He lived solely to please and to glorify God, the Father.  Look at what the
Son of Man said,
“My meat is to do the will if Him that sent me, and to finish His work” (Jn.4:34)…. “I seek not mine
own glory:  there is one that seeketh and judgeth.”
(Jn.8:50 see also Jn.5:30)….“And He that sent me is with me: the
Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.”
(Jn.8:29)…  “If I honour myself, my honour
is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me..”
(Jn.8:54; see also Jn.5:41) Jesus did not seek men‘s approval and
accolades.  For He knew that the world would not love Him! But He knew
Who did! “If the world hate you, ye know
that it hated me before it hated you.” “But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law,
They hated me without a cause.”
(Jn.15:18 & 25)

Jesus did not go throughout life trying to build a reputation for Himself with flamboyance and entertaining the people (see
Phil.2:5-8). Why?  Unlike man, Jesus knew who and what He was.  He knew His purpose for living.  He did not need to
gain notoriety, although He did!  Jesus did not go through the rigors of life trying to be and do something that He
absolutely had not been.  For Jesus knew exactly who He was and all that He possessed.  In other words, Jesus had His
total being and existence, having even existed before the world began (John 1:14-15).  Yet, He denied it all, in efforts that
we be reconciled back to the Father and that we might gain the more (see 2 Corinthians 8:9; Hebrews 10:5-18).  We all
know that Jesus was “selfless” and not selfish.  He came and was manifested for the purpose of destroying the works of
the devil and that we might have life and it more abundantly (1 John 3:8; John 10:10; 18:37).

Beloved, take hold of the following attributes of Jesus Christ.  For He once dwelled amongst us….Now, He wants to
dwell and live in YOU!

NOTE:  The following attributes of Jesus Christ, of course, is not all inclusive!

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 Corinthians 7:1

And ye shall be holy unto me:  for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
Leviticus 20:26

......because as he is, so are we in this world.
1 John 4:17
God’s Beloved, please take time and really delve into these scriptures.  Re-read what Jesus says in the above
scriptures.  And began applying these principles to yourself.  It’s really not complicated or very formidable to do so.
Ask the Lord to renew your mind, your will, and your emotions.  For this is what He wills and longs to do for us all.
Never let anyone, Satan, or even yourself, tell you that you could never meet the standards to pattern Christ’s life.
For Jesus Himself tells us, “Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name,
that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask anything in my name I will do it.” (Jn.14:12-
15)  Here, you will see that Jesus, re-emphasizes what He will do, if you just ask it in His name.  We also find that in
the King James version of the Bible, the word “it” is italicized, which denotes great emphasis.  So know this, when
you pray according to His will, and I say that to have a person desire to be like Him is His will, then have confidence
that He hears you and you have those things you have petitioned the throne for.  (see 1Jn.5:14-15)

Just know this, we MUST began the process somewhere….That place is separation! “Wherefore, come out from
among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord…. (2 Cor.6:17-18)  Why?  For ye were bought with a price;
therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s…(1Cor.6:20) For ye are Christ’s; and Christ
is God’s… (1Cor.3:23)….And I trust you want to have the testimony that you pleased God, just as Enoch (Heb.11:
5)  Christ led the greatest example of by works and His ultimate sacrifice.  And scripture has it, that He pleased not
Himself. (Heb.13:16)  So why can’t YOU!  Be Blessed and Encouraged to Continue To Strive to be….JUST LIKE
